At Warrior Doors we care about the strength and safety of every single element in our doors. From the frame to the screws we have spent time and money developing our products into the best solutions for you.

Like most people would you’re probably thinking “a whole article on door hinges?” and the answer is yes! Our full-length hinges are developed, designed and manufactured by us in-house. You would be surprised how much a well-designed hinge can affect the overall lifetime of your door.

Why Full Length?

Full length or continuous hinges are made to be the same height as the door. This means that they can support heavier doors and last a lot longer than standard mortise or butt hinges. Because continuous hinges run the full height of the door, the weight of the door is distributed along the full height of the frame which reduces stress on the hinge. Continuous hinges provide smooth operation for high traffic areas like retail stores and communal residential blocks.

Most of our products are made from stainless steel, this is because it is the most durable and suitable material for every sector that we cover (as well as being the most eco-friendly metal). Stainless steel is a heavier material and should it be held up with a non-full length hinge it would weigh it down and drop over time. This would mean maintenance call outs that cost you money that could have been avoided.

Benefits of Stainless Steel Hinges

We use 3mm 304 Stainless Steel for our hinges. There are significant long-lasting benefits to using stainless steel for hinges over other options. Stainless steel hinges have a significantly higher resistance to rust (oxidation) and corrosion against many man-made and natural environments.

Stainless steel has a significant weight to strength advantage. This provides the opportunity to use the material in a much thinner thickness than conventional graded metals. This often results in significant cost savings.

Another cost saving benefit of using stainless steel for our hinges is its ease of fabrication and our in-house Brake Press. We can roll the hinges in-house which means lower labour costs for us which results in a lower purchase cost for you.

Using our Brake Press to roll the hinges ourselves has also ensured that we have full quality control over their production and they are covered by our ISO:9001 accreditation.

Finger Protection & Recent Development

We offer our finger protection addition on our hinges for open out communal entrance doors. This option is a great way to protect your tenants even more from harm’s way.

Bringing the manufacture of our hinges in-house has also allowed us to develop them even more. As we roll our own hinge joints we are now able to add bearings in between each joint. Without the bearings there the joints rub against each other over time, slowly wearing away the material. The bearings are made of the same material as the hinge and they protect each joint from wearing away making the hinge last significantly longer than without.

There are more expensive methods of achieving this but using those would require that expense to be passed onto the customer which we try to avoid as much as possible. We spent a lot of money and time on developing this low cost but highly efficient method to ensure that our customers are never paying more than necessary.

Even with these developments your door and hinge will still require maintenance however this will reduce the regularity of the maintenance required which saves you unnecessary hassle and again money.

For higher security doors like Jewellers doors, the move in-house has also provided a benefit. We are now able to pass electrical wires through the hinge rather than through an external door loop. This helps to keep the exterior of the door looking sleek and luxurious.
