We are all aware of the benefits of being eco-friendly. At Warrior Doors we have always taken an eco-friendly approach and we are constantly improving. This is so that we can provide industry benchmark security doors and solutions without causing damage to the earth.

Here are some of the ways that we protect our planet.

Stainless Steel

At Warrior Doors all of our products and solutions are manufactured using stainless steel. We do this not only because it is the most durable and non-corrosive material to use for security products. It is also because the stainless steel industry is extremely eco-friendly. This is because it uses primary energy sparingly, saves non-renewable resources, and limits the waste stream.

Stainless steel is a recyclable material. It is made up of iron, nickel, and chromium which are all raw materials so the process of recycling stainless steel is carried out all over the globe. Steel is the most recycled material on the planet, according to the Steel Recycling Institute, one ton of recycled steel saves 2,500 pounds of iron ore, 1,400 pounds of coal, and 120 pounds of limestone. It is also estimated that around 60% of every product manufactured with stainless steel is made from recycled material. Recycling stainless steel doesn’t degrade the quality of the metal at all.

The durability of stainless steel also plays a huge part in the lifetime of our products. In over 25 years of business, no Warrior Door has ever been removed or replaced. We don’t subscribe to the wasteful ideology of built in obsolescence. Every door that we build is built to last as long as the building that it is installed into if not longer. That means that once a Warrior Door is installed no other door needs to go through production for that doorway, saving energy.

All Recycling & Africa Equip

Part of what we do is ripping out failed, broken, and rusty doors. We recycle everything that we can out of the doors that we remove. We also recycle our own scrap stainless steel in multiple ways. Most of our stainless steel scrap alongside the metal that we have salvaged from non-warrior doors that we have removed go towards our long-standing metal reclamation scheme which funds Africa Equip who aid a choir for blind persons in Africa as well as other fantastic projects. We have supported Africa Equip for over 20 years.

A small portion of our scrap stainless steel is cut into small warrior shields, powder coated, and attached to key rings in house to give out as freebies to our existing and potential customers.

Electric Vehicles

The newest improvement that we have made to our environmental impact is through electric vehicles. We have recently purchased a new fleet of Renault Zoes in addition to a Tesla. This will mean that our employees can drive around without releasing harmful emissions.

Electric vehicles not only use less energy but the power stations, solar power & wind power are all greener alternatives than combustion stations.
